TROY (WWJ) — A man has been extradited to Michigan after allegedly stealing from gym locker rooms in Metro Detroit and several other states.

Troy police officials on Tuesday announced they recently arrested 40-year-old Terrence Harrington, who they say is “tied to numerous larceny and fraud cases across multiple states.”

Harrington is known to travel across state lines, committing “financial crimes and theft-related offenses that originate with thefts from local gym locker rooms,” according to the Troy Police Department.

Harrington targeted Planet Fitness and LA Fitness locations in Troy and a Royal Oak LA Fitness last December, according to police.

Harrington is currently a suspect in additional cases in multiple cities in Michigan, as well as Washington California, and Nevada.

Officials did not say which other Michigan cities Harrington allegedly targeted and it was not clear what exactly he allegedly stole.

Harrington was extradited to Michigan from Las Vegas last Friday after the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department recovered evidence linking him to identity theft and credit card fraud.

Harrington was arraigned Monday on four counts of felony larceny in a building and eight counts of felony stealing/retaining a financial transaction device without consent.

His bond was set at $200,000 cash/surety and if released, he must wear a GPS tether.

The case was investigated by the Special Investigations Unit, comprised of officers from the Auburn Hills Police Department, Birmingham Police Department, Bloomfield Township Police Department, Royal Oak Police Department, and Troy Police Department.
