(WWJ) A Genesee County man is facing charges after it's alleged he pulled a gun and shot at a woman on the freeway in northern Oakland County.
Michigan State Police say 23-year-old Thomas Robert Trim of Mt. Morris was arraigned in 52-2 District Court Monday on one count of Discharge of a weapon from a vehicle, and one count of Felonious Assault.
Officials with the MSP Second District said the shooting happened the evening of Feb. 22, along northbound I-75 near Grange Hall Rd. in Groveland Township.
The victim alleges that the suspect was "driving aggressively," passing on the shoulder and trying to drive her off the road. She called 9-1-1 and that's when she said the gunman shot at her through his open passenger window.
He then went around her, rolled down the driver-side window and shot at her again, the woman reported.
The suspect then sped away, in what the victim described as an older model passenger car, and was later arrested.
MSP First Lt. Mike Shaw said the woman, fortunately, was not shot or injured in what he called "another case of senseless gun violence because someone couldn't handle driving down the road."
Trim was given a $50,000 cash bond, and awaits further court proceedings.
