Man with long rap sheet charged with armed robbery after two Royal Oak dry cleaners were targeted

ROYAL OAK (WWJ) -- A man with a lengthy criminal record has been arraigned on armed robbery charges for holding up two dry cleaners in Royal Oak.

Earlier this month, Kenneth Eric Person allegedly demanded cash and claimed to have a gun at the Martinizing Dry Cleaning, located at 1015 S. Main St. He's also accused of an attempted robbery at Sylvia's Cleaners last week, located at 1407 E. Eleven Mile Rd. - but he didn't get away with any money.

Police said Person has several convictions for armed robbery, narcotics possession, stalking, larceny, driving with a suspended license as well as receiving and concealing stolen property.

On Wednesday, he was arraigned via video on two counts of armed robber, which is a felony that carries a penalty of up to life in prison.

He is behind bars on a $500,000 bond.

His next scheduled court appearance is April 22 at 9:30 a.m.
