(WWJ) A Taylor man has been taken into custody and arraigned for a deadly hit and run in Dearborn Heights on New Year's Day just after midnight.
The investigation revealed the suspect was driving a Ford Econoline van east on Ford near John Daly and crossed the centerline, striking two cars traveling the opposite direction. He then ran away from the scene.
A Westland woman, 24, driving one of the vehicles was critically injured. She died at Beaumont Dearborn a short time later.
No other injuries were reported.
The suspect, 31, was arrested on Wednesday by Dearborn Heights Police. He was arraigned Friday. He is being held on a $500,000 bond.
