
BLOOMFIELD TWP. (WWJ) -- A 52-year-old man was arrested in Bloomfield Township after police say he exposed himself to a person who stopped to make sure he was okay.
The alleged incident happened the afternoon of Monday, April 8, in the area of Opdyke Road and North Fox Hills Rd.
According to Bloomfield Township Police, a call came in at around 2:30 p.m. about a man wearing a khaki coat and khaki pants, who was masturbating on the side of the road.
The witness reported that they'd spotted the suspect, later identified by police as Gregory Benson, as Benson was lying in a ditch on Opdyke. Believing that Benson could be hurt or needed help, the Good Samaritan turned around to check on him.
That's when, according to the police report, Benson began walking toward the Good Samaritan with his pants down and his genitals exposed, while masturbating.
Police responded, and Benson was arrested on a charge of indecent exposure.
According to the Bloomfield Township PD, Benson had several warrants our for his arrests out of numerous police departments, for offenses including burglary, retail fraud, disorderly conduct and open intoxicants.
He was arraigned in 48th District Court where bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety, and remans held in the Oakland County Jail.
