A man is dead after his car went airborne and crashed along the Lodge Freeway in Detroit at 3 a.m. Thursday near Wyoming in Detroit.
Police say the 25-year-old man was driving so fast that he lost control and failed to navigate a curve in the roadway. He drove straight onto the exit ramp, jumped the curb, and launched into the air.
The car crashed into a berm on the opposite side of the ramp -- killing the man.
It's unknown if alcohol played a role in the crash, but police say excess speed is clearly an issue. An investigation is ongoing.
