Man dies after Sunday night house fire in Dearborn

(WWJ) A man has died after a house fire in Dearborn Sunday night.

Fire Chief Joseph Murray says the first 911 call came in at 8:01 p.m. about the fire on Carlysle at Harding Street. Firefighters encountered flames comes from the front and side of the two-story home. Crews forced their way inside and found a man, between 35 and 40 years old, on the floor.

The man was taken to the hospital, but was pronounced dead.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury, but didn't need to be hospitalized.

The Dearborn Fire Marshal was on the scene until about midnight investigating the cause.  No exact cause has been released.

Murray extended his condolences to the family of the victim.
