DETROIT (WWJ) -- A man has died after being hit by a cement truck in Detroit. The crash happened Wednesday morning near Woodward Ave. and I-94.
Authorities said the victim, in his 40s, was working at a construction site in the area when a cement truck driver reportedly backed into him, pinning him against a pole.
The man, whose name has not been released, was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.
This was the second construction-related death this week in Metro Detroit.
In a separate incident on Monday, officials said a 23-year-old man from St. Clair Shores was killed when he was hit by an excavator bucket while working at a site near Grand River Ave. and I-96 in Brighton.
