DETROIT (WWJ) - A man and his dog are dead after a fire ripped through their home in Detroit on Friday night — and authorities don't think the fire was an accident.
As reported by WDIV, fire officials said they believe the fire was intentionally set after the victim, a Detroit man, and his partner got into an argument at their home on Fleming Street the evening of May 5.
A short while later, officials told WDIV that a 911 caller told dispatch that the man was inside the burning home and the blaze was purposely started.
Additional details about the case have not been released as the investigation continues.
It was not clear if the man and his dog were killed in the home or died later from their injuries.
The victim's name has not been released.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned to WWJ LIVE for the latest updates.
