STERLING HEIGHTS (WWJ) A man is in custody for allegedly firing multiple shots during a dispute over marijuana at a Sterling Heights home, police said.

Sterling Heights Police said officers were called to the scene on Runton Court, in the area of 18 Mile and Ryan Road, for shots fired—just after midnight on Sunday, December 1st. Within minutes of arrival, police had the suspect in custody, they said.

Further investigation revealed an argument broke out between roommates when one accused the other of stealing marijuana— and escalated to threats of shooting each other.

The suspect fired approximately five shots through the bedroom door at his roommate, police said.

Eight people were inside the home at the time, including children; according to police.

No one was hurt.

The suspect is being housed at the Macomb County Jail where he awaits charges.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call the Sterling Heights Investigators Bureau at (586) 446-2825.
