NOVI (WWJ) -- The Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office ruled the death of a man inside his Novi home a homicide, police said.
Novi Police said the body was discovered 9:30 p.m. on Monday on Joliet Court, in the Oakland Glens Mobile Home Park near 13 Mile Rd. and Novi.
Investigators said when the 46-year-old man didn't show up to work, officers were called to do a welfare check. Novi Police identified him as Jonathan Harley.
He was the only person inside the home at the time, police said.
Novi Police said rumors have been going around in the neighborhood about possible shots fired in the area on Saturday, but at this time there's no evidence that happened. Police said these reports appear to be unrelated to the man's death.
They said they do not believe there is a threat to the public.
Michigan State Police are assisting with the investigation.
