LIVONIA (WWJ) -- A man has been hospitalized with serious injuries after being hit by a car Friday morning on I-96 in Livonia.
The man was driving on eastbound I-96 near I-275 when he was involved in a multi-vehicle crash around 5:30 a.m. According to Livonia police, he then got out of his vehicle, and was struck by another driver.
The man was taken to the hospital and is currently in serious but stable condition.
The driver that hit the man had reportedly slowed down for traffic, and was going below the speed limit at the time of the incident. He stopped at the scene and is cooperating with police.
As a result of the crash, I-96 and ramps to the freeway were temporarily closed Friday morning, but reopened just after 8:30 a.m.
