Man killed after being struck by vehicle in Grand Rapids, police investigating

GRAND RAPIDS (WWJ) - A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle Thursday night.

At approximately 10 p.m., Grand Rapids Police Department officers were called to the scene of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle in the 3200 block of Plainfield Avenue, according to a press release from the GRPD.


The pedestrian, a 60-year-old man, died on the scene despite life-saving measures being taken.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the man remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Authorities said that at this time they don't believe speed, alcohol or drugs were involved.

The case is still under investigation.
