PONTIAC (WWJ) Authorities are searching for a suspect in a deadly double shooting at a Pontiac apartment complex.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said the shooting happened on Tuesday, August 5, on Candlelite Lane in the area of Telegraph and Cesar E. Chavez Avenue.
Deputies responded to reports of multiple shots fired. They arrived and found a 39-year-old Pontiac man outside an apartment with a gunshot wound to his hand.
Authorities saw gunfire had shattered the apartment's storm door, leaving behind multiple bullet holes.
Inside, deputies found a 53-year-old Pontiac man with a gunshot wound to the upper torso. Deputies began life-saving measures, but he passed away from his injuries. A physician declared him dead at McLaren Oakland Hospital.
The Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Jackson Jethro Junior.
According to sheriff's officials, deputies recovered multiple shell casings outside the apartment.
The surviving victim has been released from McLaren Oakland Hospital following treatment.
