WEXFORD COUNTY (WWJ) – A man is dead after a snowmobile crash in northern Michigan Friday morning.
A man from Mason, just south of Lansing was driving his snowmobile around 11:30 a.m. southwest of Cadillac when he crashed, according to a report from 9 and 10 News.
The Wexford County Sheriff’s Office said Lucas Wood failed to negotiate a curve, left the trail and hit several trees. Officials did not release Wood's age, and it was unclear whether he was alone at the time of the crash.
While authorities don’t believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, the investigation is still ongoing.
The Michigan DNR and Cherry Grove Fire and Rescue helped the sheriff’s office at the scene of the crash.
