SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) -- Police are searching for a gunman at large after a 40-year-old man was killed in a shooting at a Southfield hotel over the weekend.
Southfield Police confirmed the shooting happened just before 3 a.m. Sunday at the Radisson Hotel, along Telegraph Rd., near I-696 and Northwestern Highway.
Officers responding to the scene found a single victim in the parking lot, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He later died of his injuries.
Investigators said a preliminary investigation indicates that this was "a targeted shooting," although it's still unclear what led up to the gunfire.
The victim, from Detroit, has not yet been publicly identified.
In an update provided Monday afternoon, Southfield Police said the suspect was not in custody, adding: "The incident is actively being investigated by detectives, and Chief Barren will update the public at the appropriate time."
