(WWJ) The U.S. Coast Guard says no new searches are planned for a man who fell off a boat in Lake St. Clair over the weekend.
The Coast Guard and local dive teams began searching Saturday for a 74-year old who was not wearing a life jacket when he went overboard from a large boat in the Grosse Pointe Farms area.
Officials said the search was focused on an area between the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club and Pier Park in Grosse Pointe Farms, after a woman on the boat called 911 to report that she could longer see the man in the water.
Several local law enforcement agencies assisted in the intensive search effort.
A Coast Guard spokesman said the search was suspended on Sunday after all resources and efforts, both on the water and from the air, were exhausted.
The man's name was not released.
