SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) -- Southfield Police are asking for the public's help in a disturbing case of a Peeping Tom targeting a child.

Investigators are searching for a man accused of taking photos of a 9-year-old girl inside a bathroom stall Wednesday evening, at the Michael's store on Telegraph Rd. south of 12 Mile Rd.

Police said the girl and her mother were in separate stalls when the child saw a hand with a cell phone reach over the top.

The mom, who didn't want her name published, appeared at a news conference along side Southfield Police and her child on Tuesday.

She said she and her daughter are speaking out because they don't want this to happen to anyone else.

"When he got to the door of the store he took out his phone...to make sure he has the footage, and then he left out the door of the store," she said. "I'm disgusted, I'm hurt, and I'm sickened that this happened to my child."

A person of interest (pictured) was caught on camera entering the store at 7:36 p.m. and leaving at 7:41 p.m.

He's described as a bald white male with a mustache, medium build, wearing a gray hoodies with a black shirt undeneath, black pants, and white shoes.
