(WWJ) A deadly shooting in Livingston County on Christmas Day involving a homeowner and a man trying to see his estranged wife.
Deputies were called to a home in the 5500 block of Nicholson Road just after 7 p.m. Thursday after a 911 call about suspicious activity and shots fired at the home, according to a statement from the Livingston County Sheriff's Department.
When they arrived, deputies found one man had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. The homeowner, who called 911, was shot twice and was taken to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say the man who died was identified as the estranged husband of a female acquaintance who was visiting the homeowner at the time of the incident. The man drove approximately one hour from the Lake Orion area to Livingston County. There's no indication if the woman was hurt.
The incident remains under investigation.
