WASHINGTON TWP. (WWJ) -- Can anyone help identify this person?

The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for tips from the public in its search for a man who allegedly paid for some food with phony money.

Sheriff's officials said they got a call on April 3 about the incident at a fast food restaurant in Washington Township.

Investigators said the suspect — who was driving a copper-colored SUV — can be seen on on video placing an order in the drive-thru, and then paying for the food with exact change.

Around ten minutes later, officials said the same man came through the drive-thru once again, but this time he paid with a counterfeit $20 bill.

The next day, both the manager and owner realized that the $20 bill was a fake, according to the sheriff's office.

As the investigation continues, the MCSO released a surveillance image of the suspect, hoping someone in the community might recognize him.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Gerkey at 586-469-6634, or send an email to daniel.gerkey@macombcountymi.gov.
