DETROIT (WWJ) — Police are asking for tips tracking down a man accused of robbing a woman at a business on the city’s west side last week while armed with a knife.
The robbery happened around 12:40 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6 at a business in the 19300 block of Wyoming, between Outer Drive and 7 Mile Road, according to the Detroit Police Department.
Authorities say the suspect walked into the business — which was not identified — and started a conversation with a 55-year-old woman who worked there.
At some point, the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and demanded her belongings. He took her ring, money and purse during a struggle with the victim before running away from the scene.
The woman was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Police say the suspect is about 5-foot-6 and was wearing a brown leather jacket with light-colored fur on the wrists, hood, collar and bottom of the jacket, along with dark pants and black boots.
On Monday DPD released photos of the suspect.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or knows something about the robbery is being asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s 12th precinct at 313-596-1240 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
