MACOMB TWP. (WWJ) -- A manhunt is ongoing for a suspect in a shooting at an upscale Macomb Township home.
The Macomb County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday asked the public to avoid the area of 24 Mile Rd. and Foss, between North Avenue and Romeo Plank.
According to sheriff's officials, a person was shot at a home in there, at around 10:30 a.m., and the shooter fled the scene.
The sheriff's office said it's searching for a suspect in a dark SUV that was last seen headed eastbound on 24 Mile Road from Wellington Valley Drive, at approximately 10:15 a.m.
The shooting victim was last reported to be in stable condition, with non-life-threatening injuries.
The shooting happened in the driveway of the 7,000-square-foot home, which was most recently listed for $1.3 million.
Reporting from the scene Tuesday afternoon, WWJ Newsradio 950's Tim Pamplin said detectives were on the front lawn, using metal detectors to search for evidence.
Pamplin said the home is tied to a businessman who owns multiple gas stations in the area, although authorities have not released any names.
There is no further information about a suspect at this time.
"Detectives are going up and down 24 Mile looking for any Ring doorbell or camera video of that fleeing dark SUV," Pamplin said.
Anyone with information about the suspect, or who has video footage, is encouraged to contact the Sheriff's Office at 586-307-9358.
