REDFORD TWP. (WWJ) – A massive pile-up crash on Telegraph Road in Redford Township Monday night has left the road closed.
Authorities say the crash, which involved as many as 30 or more cars, according to reports, left Telegraph closed between Schoolcraft and Plymouth Roads.
The crash happened around 7 p.m. as snow hit Metro Detroit Monday, with temperatures falling into the low 30s after nightfall, making for icy road conditions.
Officials have not released many details on the crash, including how it started, or whether anyone was badly injured, though CBS Detroit reports 10-12 people were taken to different hospitals.
Crews were still working to clear the wreckage around 10:30 p.m.
Redford Township police officials are telling the public to avoid the area as multiple tow trucks work to clear the scene.
