(WWJ) If you've been driving along I-75 in Oakland County lately, the Michigan Department of Transportation wants to hear what you think about the new carpool lanes.

MDOT has launched an anonymous survey that will help officials gather insight about the HOV lanes, which opened in the fall of 2023, and how they've impacted travel in the area.

The left lane in each direction, between 12 Mile Road and South Boulevard, now operates as an HOV lane Mondays through Fridays, from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Drivers with two or more occupants (including the driver) in the vehicle, as well as all motorcyclists, can use the lane during these designated times.

Outside of those hours, the lanes are open to all drivers.

This survey is open to all roadway users who live, work or drive on I-75 in Oakland County. It takes about five minutes to complete and will close on June 30, 2025.

To take the survey, visit Michigan.gov/HOV.
