KINGSLEY, Mich. (WWJ) -- Two men were arrested after Michigan State Police troopers pulled them in Northern Michigan, south of Traverse City, this week.
At around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, Michigan State Police Seven District says troopers stopped a vehicle for an unspecified "equipment violation" on E. Main Street in Kingsley.
Police then discovered that the driver, a 56-year-old Traverse City man, had an outstanding warrant for contempt of court stemming from a methamphetamine arrest.
Troopers searched the man's car, and found fentanyl and meth in the vehicle, MSP said.
Two large machetes were also found near the driver and his backseat passenger, identified as a 35-year-old Traverse City man.
Along with the drugs and the machetes, police also seized suboxone strips from the driver and passenger.
Both men were arrested and booked in the Grand Traverse County Jail.
Their names were not immediately released as they await an arraignment on expected charges.
