(WWJ) Get those snow shovels ready. Winter is expected to wallop Metro Detroit.
Accuweather forecasts rain will begin falling late Sunday night before turning into snow later in the day on Monday.
"We'll see a change over from rain to snow as we get later in the day Monday into Monday night," Accuweather meteorologist Dean Devore said.
Devore predicts four to eight inches is possible before the snow stops on Tuesday.
"The key for us is how quickly the precipitation changes over to snow on Monday during the day…there are going to be some places that see double digits before it is all said and done," Devore said.
He told WWJ some places around Lake Erie could see a total of 18 inches of snow.
For those commuting into work on Tuesday, be prepared for sloppy roads and a dicey drive.
Toledo, Cleveland and London, Ontario are also in the path of the heaviest snow as of now.
