(WWJ) -- A four-time Olympic gold medalist from Metro Detroit is heading to her fourth Olympic Games at the age of 31.
Allison Schmitt finished second to Katie Ledecky in the 200-meter freestyle at the U.S. Olympic trials on Wednesday.
Schmitt won the same event at the 2012 London Games.
The Canton Township native finished with a time of 1:56.79, beating Paige Madden by one-hundredth of a second.
Schmitt's time gives her a likely individual event in the Tokyo games this summer, as well as a spot on the 200-meter free relay.
