(WWJ) – There's better news for Michigan drivers to start the new work week as gas prices continue to drop.
But prices still remain high, as AAA says the average price of a gallon of regular gas across the state is $4.19 – a drop of 15 cents from a week ago.
Here in Metro Detroit, the average is even lower, at $4.07, a drop of nearly 21 cents from last week.
Metro Detroit is among the areas seeing the lowest average prices in the state, along with Traverse City and Ann Arbor, according to AAA.
The most expensive places to buy gas in the state are Lansing, Jackson, and Saginaw.
While prices have fallen over the last week, the state average is still 30 cents higher than a month ago, and 80 cents higher than this time last year.
