DETROIT (WWJ) -- If your Memorial Day weekend plans include a cookout, take note: There are a couple of thunderstorms in the forecast for Metro Detroit.

Overall, we'll looking at a decent holiday weekend weather-wise, with pleasant temperatures in the in the 70s and low 80s, and plenty of sunshine.

But AccuWeather Meteorologist Joe Lundberg says showers and thunderstorms will roll into the area Friday night.

After a chance for another thunderstorm in the early morning, Saturday looks OK.

"Behind those thunderstorms, skies clear tomorrow (Saturday), and it turns out partly sunny for the afternoon — breezy and warm, in the low 80s," Lundberg said. "Some sun will give way to clouds Sunday. There could be a shower or thunderstorm by day's end; the high 76."

Then, for Memorial Day Monday, Lundberg it's looking a bit iffy. "It'll be mostly cloudy, not much sun, a gusty wind, a shower or two — maybe a rumble of thunder — especially in the morning; the high 74."

Here's the detailed AccuWeather forecast for all three days:

Looking ahead into the week, Lundberg said there's a risk of another shower both Tuesday and Wednesday, before the sunshine returns later in the weekend.
