ANN ARBOR (WWJ) -- As the Michigan men's basketball team got ready to head to Indianapolis for the Final Four, one player had to be taken away by ambulance for a medical scare.

Point guard Elliot Cadeau had an allergic reaction to something he ate, according to a team statement on Wednesday afternoon. He was seen on view captured by WWJ Newsradio 950's Jon Hewett covered in a sheet and stretchered off to the emergency vehicle.

He was initially seen getting on the team bus, but later left with head coach Dusty May back into the team's performance center, before being carted out.

The team released the following statement to WWJ:

"Before the team departed the Player Development Center today, Elliot alerted the medical staff that he may have had an allergic reaction to something that he ate. The doctors evaluated Elliot and he is fine. Out of an abundance of caution, he is receiving medical supervision and will be traveling to Indianapolis later today."

Cadeau is in his first season with the Wolverines, having transferred from North Carolina last year. Michigan will play Arizona in the Final Four in Indianapolis on Saturday night.
