(WWJ) -- The awardees for the 18th annual Michigan Celebrates Small Business Gala have been selected, and they span Metro Detroit and beyond.
Out of 550 nominations, 90 small businesses from across the state were chosen as recipients for this year’s event, and over 800 guests will gather in-person on May 3 at the Breslin Center in East Lansing to celebrate.
A total of 13 Metro Detroit businesses made the list this year, including Great Lakes Segway in Macomb County, Detroit Cabinet Manufacturing in Wayne County, and SITECH Michigan in Oakland County.
First launching in 2005, the Michigan Celebrates Small Business Gala has honored over 1,000 Michigan companies, including 900 second-stage companies recognized by a Michigan 50 Companies to Watch Award.
As COVID-19 has continued to have a lasting impact many companies over the past two years, small businesses owners have had to transform in order to keep their doors open.
The 2022 awards gala will put Michigan’s small businesses in the spotlight and give them a chance to share their success stories with the supporters who have helped them on their journeys.
