CLARKSTON, Mich. (WWJ) – Police are investigating a crash in northern Oakland County Monday morning that left a married couple from Lapeer dead.
Michael and Nicole Clyne were killed when their Pontiac Grand Prix collided with another vehicle along Ortonville Road in Clarkston, officials with the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said.
Officials say Michael Clyne, 48, was driving the car northbound on Ortonville shortly before 11 a.m. when it crossed the centerline near Rattalee Lake Road and slammed into a Jeep Grand Cherokee headed southbound.
He and his 47-year-old wife were both pronounced dead at the scene. Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to police.
A 64-year-old Ortonville man driving the Jeep was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff's office said. He was expected to be released on Monday.
Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash, police officials said.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
