(WWJ) A misprint of enhanced driver's licenses and state ID cards is impacting several thousand Michiganders, officials say.
The Secretary of State's office announced over the weekend that about 8,200 Michigan residents will see an error has a stock photo and date of birth printed in the lower right-hand corner instead of the cardholder’s information.
They say the misprints are the result of an error by a vendor named Idemia, and that the misprinted information is generic and is not the information of another resident.
New cards with the correct information have already been sent out.
The SOS says people who got a misprinted license don’t have to take any action at this time because they will automatically get a new card in the mail.
Affected customers can also go online or visit a Secretary of State branch office in person to print a temporary license/ID to use while they wait for a new card. If your old license or ID hasn’t expired yet, it’s still valid for travel.
