LAPEER (WWJ) -- There appears to be a lucky spot to get a lottery ticket in southeastern Michigan.
The Sonoco station along Main Street in Lapeer sold three winning tickets last month -- two Fantasy 5 and a Club Keeno winner. Each ticket totaled over $100,000.

Jake Harris with the Michigan Lottery says the phenomenon was just by happenstance, but also concedes that certain retailers do have a tendency to sell their share of winning tickets.
“It doesn’t really matter where they’re bought, everybody has an equal chance to win,” Harris said. “The fact that that this one particular station sold three in a month is remarkable, it doesn’t happen all the time. But we certainly do have retailers that sell their fair share of big winners.”
The biggest winning ticket sold in Michigan in October was a $1.6 million Lotto 47 ticket, which was purchased just north of Bay City in Kawkawlin.
