LANSING (WWJ) -- Organizers say a trucker convoy will land in Lansing on Saturday, honking horns and driving through the city "to spread the message that the free people of Michigan will not be stopped."
The convoy, dubbed "The Honkening," is part of a daylong series of events to to include a "pro-MAGA rally" at the Capitol, and an evening "MAGA Mixer to support Pres. Trump."
Organizers say the rally will be held on the Capitol steps where the convoy is set to converge between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
The master of ceremonies, GOUSA founder John Paul Moran, believes the rally "will unify the vast majority of Michigan residents who support policies that put Americans first."
Keynote speaker for the rally will be Republican Arizona state Rep. Mark Finchem.
“This movement is never going to stop. The Canadian trucker convoy has shown us the blueprint for how we can resist tyranny and defend our freedom,” said one of the organizers, Holly Spalding, who is based in Milford.
Other speakers scheduled to take part are Michigan Attorney General candidate Matt DePerno, mandate-resisting Bistro owner Marlena Pavlos-Hackney, former state senator Patrick Colbeck and RNC Michigan election integrity director Matthew Seifried.
The event is hosted by two self-described "national America First populist" groups: GOUSA, and Republicans for National Renewal.

Following the rally, the evening mixer — offering attendees a chance to mingle with "Trump-endorsed candidates" — will be held at the Royal Scot Golf & Bowl at 4722 West Grand River Ave. in Lansing. The event, with dinner, speakers and a live band, will run from 5 p.m.-9 p.m.
