DETROIT (WWJ) -- Michigan State Police are investigating a reported freeway shooting on the Southfield Freeway.
MSP said they received the call on Wednesday, May 27, just before 1:30 p.m.
The caller said the shooting happened on Detroit's west side, on the northbound side of the freeway near Plymouth Road.
No injuries were reported, MSP said.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting have not been released.
As of 3:20 p.m., authorities had shut down the northbound Southfield Freeway from Warren to Joy roads for the investigation .They were asking drivers to avoid the area and seek an alternate route.
Authorities said they will release more information as it becomes available.
