(WWJ) A Michigan woman says she couldn't help but scream when she found out she won a $417,233 Fantasy 5 lottery jackpot.
Michigan Lottery officials announced that the lucky player — 63-year-old woman from Tuscola County — matched the Fantasy 5 numbers in the April 30 drawing to win the big prize: 08-14-30-37-39.
She bought her winning ticket online at MichiganLottery.com.
“I usually buy Fantasy 5 tickets online and I bought 10 tickets for this drawing,” said the player, who chose to remain anonymous. “I checked the winning numbers online the day after the drawing and was bummed when I saw the jackpot had been won. The possibility of myself being the jackpot winner didn’t even cross my mind."
She said she logged into her account to see if maybe she'd won a few dollars.
“When the pop up came up showing my $417,233 Fantasy 5 prize, I started screaming! My husband ran upstairs because he thought something was wrong," the player said. "When I showed him how much I’d won, he was in disbelief."
The player visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim her big prize, the Lottery said.
With her winnings, she plans to buy a new car and make some investments.
Each Fantasy 5 play is $1. Fantasy 5 players select five numbers from one to 39, and players who match all five numbers drawn win a jackpot that starts at $100,000. Fantasy 5 drawings are held seven days a week at 7:29 p.m.
