(WWJ) -- The holidays can be stressful, and everyone could use a little bit of relief.

Perhaps that’s why Michiganders are opting for laughs when it comes to their favorite Christmas movie.

The website Wishlisted.com took a look at IMDb’s Top 100 Christmas movies of all-time and filtered it through Google Trends to analyze search popularity in each state.

Based on the study, Michigan’s top holiday flick was the 1989 classic “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” and it turns out, we aren't alone!

The results showed that 40 states preferred the follies of the Griswold family at Christmastime to other holiday classics.

Coming in second in terms of search popularity was “It’s a Wonderful Life,” while offbeat selections such as “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “Diehard” also made the list.

Overall, the top 5 searched movies across the country were:

1. “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”
2. “It’s a Wonderful Life”
3. “Die Hard”
4. “The Nightmare Before Christmas”
5. “Home Alone”
