DETROIT (WWJ) -- Could Justin Verlander make a return to Detroit? Miguel Cabrera certainly hopes so!
Cabrera left a comment on Verlander's Instagram as the 39-year-old pitcher posted a video hugging his daughter after a "great throwing session" on field.
"Come back to you familia the D," the Tigers slugger wrote with hearts and the praying hands emoji.
Verlander is currently recovering from Tommy John surgery and could be a free agent next year if his current team —the Houston Astros — don't make him a qualifying offer.
The pitcher missed the 2021 season due to his recovery.
"If you had told me a year and a half ago I would be able to feel this good again and that it wouldn't even be the highlight of my day I woulda called you crazy," Verlander captioned the sweet moment with his daughter. "But it wasn't even the highlight of my hour."
The Tigers traded Verlander to the Astros four years ago to start a rebuild of the team.
