DETROIT (WWJ) -- The weather hasn’t exactly been ideal, but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate summer in Detroit with some sweet treats instead!

Milk & Froth has announced that the grand opening of its new brick-and-mortar storefront in downtown Detroit is set for Monday, July 5.

Located at 535 Griswold Street in Bedrock’s Buhl Building, Milk & Froth will serve vegan and dairy artisanal ice cream seven days a week.

Milk & Froth makes its ice cream from scratch in small batches, using high-quality ingredients without pre-manufactured mixes, chemical stabilizers or artificial colors and flavors.

“We are really excited to be opening our first scoop shop downtown,” said Alexis Matteson, co-owner of Milk & Froth. “The number one question our customers have been asking is how they can get our ice cream year-round, so we are very happy to finally meet that need with our new storefront.”

Three years ago, Matteson and fellow co-founder Deion Cao launched the company as an ice cream truck, and steadily built a loyal following among Detroiters.

“Small businesses are at the core of what makes Detroit’s retail and dining scene so special,” said Ivy Greaner, Bedrock’s Chief Operating Officer. “We are so excited to witness these two young entrepreneurs expand and provide our Detroiters and visitors their unique Detroit ice cream experience.”

Milk & Froth will serve over a dozen rotating ice cream flavors, including Honeycomb, Butterscotch Brownie, Butter Pecan, Matcha Pistachio, Malt Cherry Chocolate, Orange Cream, Salted Caramel, Chocolate Hazelnut, Roasted Strawberry, Milk Chocolate, Peppermint Patty, Coffee & Cream and Blue Magic.

The storefront will be open Monday-Thursday, 12:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. and Friday-Sunday, 1:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.
