ANN ARBOR (WWJ) – The search for a missing 15-year-old Washtenaw County girl came to a tragic end Monday, when her body was found near her high school football field.
Adriana Davidson’s family last heard from her as she was on her way to school at Ann Arbor Pioneer High School around 9 a.m. Friday, according to the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office.
When she didn’t return to her home, in Scio Township, family members reported her missing, and began looking for her.
Authorities said surveillance video from Ann Arbor public buses showed the 10th grader got to school Friday morning, then left shortly after arriving.
Davidson, who had apparently told friends she wasn't feeling well that day, got off the bus in downtown Ann Arbor. She then returned to school by bus around noon that day, but never went inside, officials said, and that was the last time she was seen alive.
Davidson allegedly exchanged texts with a friend Friday afternoon before her cell phone was found by another student on the Pioneer High School tennis courts.
Late Monday afternoon. the sheriff's office said it was saddened to report that Davidson had been found dead.
Just before 1 p.m., the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit discovered the teen's body near the athletic fields of Ann Arbor Pioneer High School.
Reportedly, her body was found under the bleachers.
Officials said that, at least at this early stage in the investigation, "there are no indications of foul play."
The Ann Arbor Police Department will be taking over the death investigation as the scene is within city limits, the sheriff's office said, adding:
"Our sincere condolences go out to the friends and family of Adriana. You remain in our thoughts and prayers. We would also like to thank everyone for your assistance in spreading the word, sharing tips, and offering your support."
