
(WWJ) Michigan State Police say an unidentified body found on the western shore of Beaver Island in Lake Michigan has been identified as that of missing person, Kristen Terrian.
Terrian, 39, was last seen at around 5:30 a.m. on Friday, August 2, on Michibay Beach near the Manistique Township Park, along the northern shores Like Michigan.
According to officials with the MSP Eighth District, the body was discovered on Friday, Aug. 9, a postmortem examination was conducted on Monday, and dental records were used to positively identify the body as Terrian on Thursday.
Terrian is from Gulliver, in the Upper Peninsula, not far from where she went missing.
Her family has been notified by MSP detectives.
"This is not the outcome any of us wanted," said First Lt. Mike Shaw, MSP Public Information Officer. "We offer our condolences to Kristen's family and our community."
There is no further information available at this time as to the circumstances of Terrian's death, and it's unclear if this case could involve foul play.
