PONTIAC (WWJ) -- A runaway Pontiac girl has been reunited with her father, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, after some cryptic text messages caused concern.

According to investigators, 16-year-old Tashyra Princess Cason was staying with a friend in the 700 block of Barkell St. for two days, beginning April 24.

The friend told Tashyra's father that the two girls snuck out of the house early the morning of April 25, and that she last saw Tashyra walking south in Astor.

The friend said she'd thought that Tashyra was headed home, but she never arrived.

The dad told detectives he received suspicious text messages saying that Tashyra was OK, and to stop looking for her or calling police.

Tashyra did have a cell phone or any traceable technology with her, the sheriff's office said, as it released her photo and other details to the public.

In an update Thursday, the OCSO said detectives discovered Tashyra at her boyfriend’s home in Pontiac, Wednesday afternoon. The father met deputies at the boyfriend’s home and took Tashyra home with him.

No further information was released.
