DETROIT (WWJ) - The owners of Motor City Popcorn hope a tipster will "pop-in" with some information that will help catch whoever broke into their Detroit storefront overnight.
Motor City Popcorn located at 7104 W. 7 Mile Road, near Livernois just around the corner from the University of Detroit Mercy's University District and down the street from the Detroit Golf Club, said the robbery occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 5.
"Motor City Popcorn was a victim of a break-in," the store said on their social media. "Our front door is broken, register was stolen and other damages."
There were no injuries reported.
Officials said the incident may force the gourmet popcorn shop to close for a day or two while they figure out their next steps. The store said they will try to fulfill orders as scheduled, but those could be delayed.
Anyone with any information about the incident is encouraged to come forward to Detroit police.
