WYANDOTTE (WWJ) -- A police chase ended in a deadly motorcycle crash Downriver, Thursday night.
Wyandotte Police say around 10 p.m. on October 15, officers got word of a motorcycle headed southbound into the city on Biddle, speeding at over 100 miles per hour.
Officers tried to pull the rider over on Biddle near Spruce, right across from the police station, but the motorcycle — which had no license plate — kept going at speeds over 100, while also veering into oncoming traffic, police said.
The chase continued south on Biddle into the city Riverview, where the rider went down a dead-end road, lost control, and crashed.
The man driving the motorcycle was unresponsive on the scene, at West Jefferson and Sibley. He was taken to a hospital where he died on his injuries, police said.
Reports said the rider was 18 years old, but that detail was not immediately confirmed by police. His name was not released.
No one else was hurt.
Michigan State Police are handling the ongoing investigation into the crash.
