MSP: Alcohol involved in fatal Oakland County motorcycle crash

GROVELAND TWP. (WWJ) -- A motorcyclist is dead after a crash in northern Oakland County; Michigan State Police say alcohol appears to be a factor.

The incident happened on Tuesday, shortly after 10 p.m., on Dixie Highway near Grange Hall Road in Groveland Township.

The motorcyclist then left the roadway for unknown reasons and crashed.

They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say alcohol does appear to be a factor.

Next of kin has been notified and an investigation is underway, pending autopsy results and vehicle inspection.
