MSP and MDOT on the scene of 'numerous crashes' with injuries reported on I-94
(WWJ) - Michigan State Police and MDOT are working to clear multiple crashes on I-94 and reminding drivers to take their time when driving in slick and hazardous conditions.
MSP Fifth District tweeted that eastbound I-94 was closed at mile marker 66, near the Mattawan exit due to "numerous crashes with injuries."
Michigan State Police are reminding people to "reduce your speeds for the hazardous conditions."
Authorities are recommending drivers find an alternate route and avoid the area until the cleanup is complete.

At this time, there are no further updates on injuries or how many vehicles were involved. Pictures posted to the MSP Fifth District Twitter show a silver vehicle and several semi trucks.
Van Buren County, where the crashes took place, and Allegan County are under a winter storm warning until Tuesday at 4 a.m. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility, the NWS said.
