(WWJ) Police have a mystery to solve the Upper Peninsula, after the Bomb Squad was called in disarm a live pipe bomb.
No one was injured in the incident Thursday morning, at the public firearms range located off S. Gaines Highway near Shortcut Road in Kinross Township, Chippewa County. That's in the eastern U.P.
Just after 10:30 a.m., troopers with the MSP Sault Ste. Marie Post were dispatched to the scene where a suspicious device was found, and called the MSP Bomb Squad to assist.
The Bomb Squad deployed a robot, which confirmed the device was live.

The device was then safely rendered inert on-site, MSP said.
The firearms range has now reopened after being temporarily closed during the investigation and Bomb Squad response.
It's still unclear who planted the device, or why, as the investigation continues.
