SAGINAW (WWJ) Michigan State Police (MSP) detectives discovered 19 illegal guns during an investigation in the Saginaw area.
In a post on social media; MSP said their Major Case Unit detectives were investigating a homicide last week, when they executed a search warrant on a storage unit.
That’s where they found the nineteen illegal weapons.
The nineteen guns included three that were stolen, one reported lost and 13 unregistered, MSP said.
Detectives also uncovered 1,357 rounds of ammunition.
In December of 2024, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced that more than 750 illegal guns were taken off the Michigan streets as part of Operation Safe Neighborhoods since the program began in spring of 2022.
