MSP: Murder investigation underway after body found in Inkster

A homicide investigation is underway in Wayne County after an Inkster man was found shot to death in an apartment, officials confirmed Tuesday morning.

INKSTER (WWJ) - A homicide investigation is underway in Wayne County after an Inkster man was found shot to death in an apartment, officials confirmed Tuesday morning.

Michigan State Police said it is an active scene in Inkster as detectives with the Special Investigation Section working with local police to collect evidence at an apartment complex in the 4300 block of Hickory Street.

Police were called to the apartment on the report of a "man down." When police showed up, they administered first aid, but it was unsuccessful. WDIV in Detroit reported the victim, possibly in his 20s or 30s, was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds inside one of the units.

MSP officials said they have no suspect or suspect description. The investigation is continuing.
